If you’re new to the world of joint ventures or JVs, or never heard about the word “JV” or “jointventures”, I’m going to define it in terms of how it’s normally use in our spaceAre

A JV or joint venture is exchanging value for a mailing. It can be a reciprocal mailing, but not alwaysnecessary.

A typical example would be:

I introduce X to my list and X in turn introduce me to his/her list.

Another would be: I interview an expert and she/he shares the interview to her/his community.

So why Joint Venture?

It’s the fastest and easiest way I know of to grow your list, get clients and make money in yourbusiness, all without spending a dime on paid advertising.

If you look at all the big influencers in your space, chances are they’re using JV partners as one oftheir important expansion strategy.

Why? Because you can reach more people by exchanging, collaborating and supporting each other.

In JV’s, one times one no longer equals two. It becomes hundreds, thousands even tens ofthousands.

How? It works like this: One JV partner who promotes you can send you 100 or 1,000 new leads withjust a couple of mailings.

Are you starting to see the possibility here? I hope so...

So, let me take you on the 4 PHASES - I call it - the JV SUCCESS PATH - that I´ve  created to help you understand the whole process of making a joint venture promotion successful. It´s not complicated as you may think it is. You just have to have piece puzzle together in the right sequence, at the right time.

Now, let´s break the four phases down to in a much simplier way, so you can easily implement it.


This is where the "rubber meets the road", as they say, and I´ll tell you why...

This is where most of the work is done. And it´s not sexy! It´s called "work"!

But boy, it´s worth doing the work once, and profit from it over and over and over again!​

So, let's get started.

There are five components of "Getting JV-Ready:​

Step 1: Irresistible offer

​The first thing is having an offer that's irresistible to your potential customers as well as to your potential promotional partners. 


Because, no amount of good marketing can sell a lousy product!

Here's a formula to creating an irresistible offer:

Start with that!

Step 2: Irresistible lead magnets

You've probably know what a "lead magnet" is, otherwise, a lead magnet is some kind of valuable content in the form of a PDF, a Video, and Audio, that you give to your potential customers to attract them to you in exchange for their name and email address, so that you continue to build relationship with them, and turn them into buying customers.

There are several kind of lead magnets that you will be using in the context of a JV promotion. For this purpose, you will need at least two kinds of lead magnets at a bare minimum, but I recommend, a total of six!

One is a PDF downloadable lead magnet. Easy, consumable and doesn't require time commitment for your prospects.

Next is a series of valuable contents. It could be a 3 short video series about your topic. It can be an ebook. Or an audio series. Something that goes more in depth about your topic than the pdf download. That's a total of three.

Fifth is a webinar where you will sell your offer. This can be a 26 minute webinar, a 56 minutes or even a 90-minute in length.

Six would be a valuable piece of content that you give put during your webinar to entire people to stay throughout your presentation. Why? Because you want them to be there to hear what you're offering, so that you can make sales, and thus, make money.

Ok, now I know, that's a lot. But the good news is, you don't have to do all of these in one seating. Unless you do what  do called "batching" - meaning, I sit down one day and do nothing but just that - creating my lead magnets! If that doesn't work for you, then there's "outsourcing" it to somebody.

But unless, you have to, you're the best person who knows your stuff better than anyone, so try it.  And then, get somebody to proof-read or a copywriter to make finesse it.

And if you really, really don't want to do it, then I don't know, ask yourself, "why are you in this business?"

Step 3: Irresistible Landing Pages

Next is your landing pages.

Landing pages are what I call, the infrastructure that houses your irresistible contents and where you invite other people - your JV partners  - to get to know you and get them to your community by giving them something of value, which are your lead magnets.

Now, there are several softwares out there. There's thrive themes, leadpages, clickfunnels, optimize press, unbounce, and others.

I'm not gonna tell you which one to use, but they are all good. I'll share with you what I currently use tho' and why.

I'm currently using thrive landing pages because it's a wordpress theme, it's easy for me to use, but most of all, I don't have to pay recurring monthly fee to use them. This page is a thrive landing page - down below is an optin form.

Step 4: Irresistible Affiliate System

This is one of the areas a lot of people, especially those who are just starting out have a challenge with. If that's you, don't worry, I was once like you. I didn't know a thing!

Affiliate System is the one that has the ability to generate specific links called -affiliate links - for your JV partners so you can track their activities when they promote you - like how many optins they sent, how many leads, but most especially, how many sales they got so you know how much to pay them in commission. That's it.

I'm currently using SIMPLERO , as my affiliate platform because it's founder, Calvin Correli, is not just brilliant but awesome!

That one too, but what I love about is because, it's literally, an ALL-IN-ONE solution. It's an email service provider that automates my email sequences (so I don't need aweber anymore nor infusionsoft), a media storage to host all my videos, audios and pdfs (so I stopped my subscription to vimeopro), a membership platform to house all my contents (so I turned away wishlist member), plus it also has landing pages and blog content pages, but I don't use those, instead I use thrive themes. 

Now, there are other platforms out there that has affiliate tracking capability like Infusionsoft, 1shoppingcart, etc. So, it's up to you to choose which one best fit the needs of your business

Step 5: Irresistible JV swipe packet

Finally, you'll need what I call the "JV PACKET". These includes all the content that you want your JV partner to use to be able to promote you to their list - email swipe copy, social media post and graphics, articles, blog post, press releases.

This is a very important piece that you want to have , because you want to make it "sing with ease", as Brendon Burchard use to say, which means, "making it as easy as possible for your JV partners to send those emails to their list - you want them to just - copy-paste-edit-send! Literally!


One of the biggest challenge I get from people is this - how to get others to say ‘YES” to promoting you...

And my answer is, ASK!

The problem is, a lot of people approach this the wrong way. Myself included when I got started. There’s actually a process of approaching, connecting, building that “Know-Like-Trust” factor and then going for the ask.

Here’s the process I use:

Step 1: Identify your ideal JV partners who have your target audience (very important!)

Step 2: Make a list of at least 50 (The more the better, and yes, you can easily come up with at least 100).

Step 3: Find their email address (usually on their website), and follow them on social media - FB/Twitter/Linkedin.

Step 4: Write a short JV invite email and send both via email and private message on FB asking for a quick chat.

Step 5: Follow up until they respond with a YES or a NO.

Step 6: Get on the phone with them - ask “how can I support you?” Talk only about themselves.

Now, obviously, the conversation can go in either direction. What I found out is that, after you’ve let them talk aboutthemselves and their business, and how you want to support them, they’ll naturally ask, “well, how can I supportyou?”. This is your opportunity to share what you have and see if this is something they’ll be interested in promotingto their community.

If a yes, congratulations! You’ve just got yourself a new JV partner!

If a no, don’t take it personally. Ask if there are other ways you can support them and if you can circle back withthem in the future.

Don’t burn the bridge, as they say


Nothing happens until you launch or do that promotion!

There are lots of ways to do a JV promotion, but what I ́ll share with you is the kind of launchstrategy I use and my clients do that ́s easy, doable, fun and doesn't require months and months of preparation.

I call it the “7-Day Launch”.

Here’s how it looks like...

As you can see, the JV partner promotes twice - one to a PDF Guide and one to a webinar.
This is what I found very doable and lucrative because one, it doesn't require a lot of sendingemails on the part of the JV partner, and two, it’s a very short time - only in a span of a week!

Imagine doing this every month with one new JV partner every time. How would your businesslook like? Would you not have enough clients to talk to for your coaching? What about havingconsistent leads to sell your programs to?


One of the most neglected part of this whole process is this - nurturing your new list and JV/affiliate partners after the launch.

Of course, after the promotion, you now have to not only deliver on your promise but alsodeliver a “wow experience” to your new customers by providing them the value they came in for.

But what about those who didn't buy and are now on your list? What about your JV partnerswho promote you? What ́s next for them?

Well, this is where “nurturing” comes in.

Let ́s take a look at some ways that you can start nurturing these two groups...

For your new subscribers:

1. Pre-schedule email nurturing sequences.

2. Do a weekly or bimonthly Q&A.

3. Invite and interview a guest to talk about a certain topic your list wants to know.

4. Share valuable content from other experts in your niche without pitching.

5. Feature a case study from one of your successful students.

For your new JV partners:

1. Send a “thank you card” after the promotion.

2. Stay in touch at least every month for updates and see what they’re working on.

3. Share and comment on their blogs or podcast if they have one.

4. Connect them to other experts.

5. Refer potential clients to them.
