If you are thinking about selling your online courses and or coaching and consulting services, then you need to know how joint ventures work. They are a great way to get more exposure and drive sales to your courses and services.

In this post I will explain what a joint venture is, why they are effective at driving sales and give examples of different types of joint ventures that can be used when selling your courses or services online.

A joint venture is basically exchanging value between two or more people with mutually beneficial interest.

Here are some common examples:

  • Mailing for each other to grow your list and sell your courses and coaching or consulting services.
  • Being a guest on each other's platforms, like on their podcasts or speaking at their virtual events or online summits.
  • Co-creating a course or a project together.
  • Trading each other's services, for example, you are an expert on social media marketing and the JV partner is an expert on creating canva templates for social media graohcs.

Why joint ventures? Why do you need to do joint ventures? And why do you need to employ this strategy in your business?

There are a lot of marketing strategies you can use to grow your business online, but one of my favorites is Joint Ventures and here's why:

  • It's the fastest way to grow your list and sell out your courses and coaching and consulting programs.
  • It's the number one strategy that big names use to make multiple five to six and seven figures. Look inside your industry. Most big names in the industry when they launch their courses and programs online, use joint venture partners to drive massive traffic and sell out their courses and programs. Ever heard of Jeff Walker of the Product Launch Formula? He's a big fan of Joint Venture Launches!
  •  It's the only strategy where one plus one equals hundreds 1000s or even 10s of 1000s. Why? Because let's say one Joint Venture partner has a list of 10,000, you could be potentially add  thousands of new email subscribers to your list. Now imagine if you have 10 JV partners with a list of 10,000 each and all promoting you at the same time? What would that mean to your business? You'll potentally sell your online course like a wildfire!
  • It builds your authority and credibility almost overnight. Why? Because your joint venture partners by virtue of them endorsing you to their list, they naturally transfer their know like and trust factor to you. So you are seen as an authority and a credible person in the eyes of their audience. Talk about leveraging their already established authority.
  •  Somebody does the leg work for you. I love this one. Why? Because when you are promoting somebody through joint ventures, usually they do all the legwork. They set up your affiliate links, they create your affiliate swipes and email, copy social media graphics, blog posts, etc. All you have to do is to copy and paste, and click send. And then you earn commissions when you make a sale from their offers. How cool is that?

Joint ventures are nothing new. But there is a lot of confusion about what they are, how to use them and why someone should use them in the first place.
