Laura Pennington is a former inner city teacher turned entrepreneur who fell into business ownership accidentally after Googling "how to become a freelance writer." Now she's a sought after writer, project manager, and coach for freelancers. A master at building digital teams and productivity, she's helped hire writers, designers, virtual assistants, developers and more for companies like TrueCar and Microsoft.

She manages a full-time load of clients, her graduate school research, her podcast, and is working on her first novel. As a current PhD candidate in public policy, she has earned three university-wide awards from Virginia Tech for her research about battered women.
